This year marks a significant milestone for us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Brilliant Entrepreneur! Our journey began in 2014 in Uganda, where Yvette, drawing from her extensive experience in agriculture, gender equality, and entrepreneurship projects worldwide, crafted the innovative Talent-in-Business approach. Inspired by her studies at the Talent Academy, this approach was tailored specifically for SME women entrepreneurs in emerging markets.
The program made a prosperous start when Karen introduced our approach to the Netherlands Embassy during her holiday in Uganda. We are forever grateful to Henny Gerner and Stephen Bayite at the Embassy, whose swift recognition of the value of our work led to our first opportunity: training a group of Ugandan SME women. This initial success ignited a chain reaction of more projects and cohorts.
Since then, we've had the privilege of training over 600 women entrepreneurs from diverse regions such asZambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Mozambique, DR Congo, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo,Georgia, Jordan, Palestine, and various countries in the MENA region. Empowered by our approach, these women have unlocked their potential and cultivated businesses that resonate with their unique strengths and values. They've charted their paths, doing business their way!
A heartwarming validation of our impact came recently from two entrepreneurs from our first cohort in Uganda. They observed that the effects of our Talent-in-Business training endure longer and yield greater results compared to other business development programs. This affirmation fuels our passion even further!
In collaboration with these two remarkable women, who now lead AWEP Uganda, we're developing a Train-the-Trainers proposal. This initiative aims to extend the benefits of our program to countless more women entrepreneurs in Uganda.
